Editorial and review standards for HS code content
Each classification article is designed so that a reader can audit the conclusion instead of receiving an unsupported tariff number.
Scope of analysis
Each page addresses one jurisdiction and a defined condition as imported. It states the construction, function, material, operating principle and facts that could change the result.
Classification authorities
The Editorial Team applies heading text, Section and Chapter Notes, the General Rules of Interpretation, the current national tariff and effective measures. Supplier codes and search results are not treated as independent legal authority.
Source verification
Primary sources are preferred: legislation, official tariff schedules, gazettes, customs databases, rulings and decisions. Document number, merchandise scope and effective date are checked before citation.
Updates and corrections
Articles display publication and update dates. A tariff revision, regulatory change or material change in product facts triggers review. Supported corrections are verified and reflected in the next update.
AI results and expert review
The AI tool reads product facts, retrieves official sources, compares candidate codes and explains the GIR analysis. Its output is conditional research, not a customs ruling. After a classification case is completed, a user may submit it to the expert-review queue. A reviewer is identified only after a real review is completed, and the opinion does not replace an advance classification or binding ruling from the competent authority.
